Columbia campus

The view from the 15th Floor looking downtown...

Only building in the world (that I know of) with these words over its entrance...

Looking up Amsterdam Ave (Casa Italiana on the right)

Reminds me of a sculpture by Alberto Giacometti

It's dedicated to Wild Bill Donovan,
founder of the OSS and CIA!

St. Paul's Chapel

Now check out the inscription on the base of the sculpture....

"Presented by the Class of 1883 Arts  Mines AND Political Science"

Guess where Political Science was founded...

another interesting inscription over Schermerhorn

Back to the School of Mines for you!

This is in front of the Engineering School

The view from the back of the Engineering School looking west across 120th. That's Teachers College across the street and Riverside Church at the end of the street.

The Scholars' Lion (school mascot)

The Institute for the Advanced Study of Money
(aka the Business School)

Earl Hall - religious center of campus

The sculptor was George Grey Barnard
(would like to know more about this...)

Butler Library

Low Library

and the ever popular statue outside Philosophy Hall
(how appropriate)

This sculpture graces the entrance to the Law School
(must have something to do with the struggle for truth, justice and the American Way)

which brings us back to SIPA

... and the alcove outside the 6th Floor entrance where I like to set up shop. Even discovered a functioning electrical outlet nearby so that I can keep my laptop plugged in all day...

Bye for now...
